To connect two computers with a
network cable, follow these steps :-
1. Get a
network cable. You'll need a standard Ethernet cable with RJ45 connectors on
each end.
2. Turn off
both computers.
3. Connect one
end of the network cable to the Ethernet port on the first computer.
4. Connect the
other end of the network cable to the Ethernet port on the second computer.
5. Turn on
both computers.
6. Configure
the network settings on both computers. Go to Control Panel > Network and
Sharing Center > Change adapter settings. Right-click on the Local Area
Connection and select Properties. Select "Internet Protocol Version 4
(TCP/IPv4)" and click Properties. Choose "Use the following IP
address" and enter an IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway. For
example, set the IP address of the first computer to 192.168.1.1 and the second
computer to 192.168.1.2. Make sure the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 and the
default gateway is blank.
7. Test the
connection by pinging the other computer. Open the Command Prompt and type
"ping [IP address of the other computer]". For example, "ping
192.168.1.2". If you get a reply, the connection is successful.
8. Once the
connection is established, you can transfer files between the two computers by
sharing folders. Right-click on a folder and select "Properties",
then go to the "Sharing" tab and select "Advanced sharing".
Check "Share this folder" and click "OK". On the other
computer, go to File Explorer and click on "Network". You should see
the shared folder and be able to access it.
That's it! You've successfully connected two computers with a network cable.
